Job Title: SEND Teaching Assistant – Resource Base (1:1 Support)

Daily Rate: £90 – £115 (PAYE)

TeacherActive is working closely with a secondary school in Wiltshire to recruit a compassionate and committed SEND Teaching Assistant to join their resource base provision. This long-term role involves working 1:1 with students who have additional needs, supporting both their learning and emotional development.

You’ll be part of a close-knit team that includes pastoral and teaching staff, providing tailored support for students with a range of needs, including Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), SEMH, and speech and language difficulties. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with experience in a SEND or care setting who is now looking to further their impact within education.

Your responsibilities will include:

Providing 1:1 support to students with SEND, primarily in Key Stages 3 and 4

Supporting emotional regulation and encouraging positive behaviour

Helping students access learning and develop essential life skills

Working collaboratively with the resource base and wider school team

Encouraging independence, resilience, and confidence in students

We’re looking for someone who has:

Experience supporting young people with SEND in a school or care environment

Knowledge of Autism, SEMH, and other common learning needs

A calm, proactive, and compassionate approach to support

Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset

An understanding of safeguarding and student wellbeing
