Are you a Special Needs Teaching Assistant who is passionate about making a difference in the lives of young people with special educational needs?

A welcoming and inclusive secondary school in Tower Hamlets is seeking a Special Needs Teaching Assistant (SEN TA) to join their supportive team from September 2025.

This is a fantastic opportunity to join as a Special Needs Teaching Assistant and work in a diverse and forward-thinking school, supporting students with a range of needs including ASD, ADHD, SEMH, and speech and language difficulties.

The Role – Special Needs Teaching Assistant

* Provide 1:1 and small group support to students with identified SEN across Key Stages 3 and 4

* Help students access the curriculum by adapting materials and offering in-class support

* Support the class teacher in planning and delivering inclusive lessons

* Foster positive behaviour and implement strategies to support emotional regulation

* Assist with the implementation and monitoring of EHCPs and behaviour support plans

* Collaborate with the SENCo and external agencies to ensure tailored support

Ideal Candidate Will Have – Special Needs Teaching Assistant

* Previous experience working with secondary-aged pupils with special educational needs

* Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build trust and rapport with young people

* A calm, patient, and resilient approach to supporting challenging behaviour

* Knowledge of strategies and interventions for ASD, SEMH, and learning difficulties

* A genuine passion for education and inclusion

* Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
