CarmichaelUK are recruiting a Construction Manager on behalf of a Tier 1 contractor delivering a first-of-its-kind carbon capture, usage, and storage (CCUS) development in Teeside.

Key Responsibilities

Lead the day-to-day delivery of complex RC structures with excellence in safety, quality, budget, and programme.

Manage teams ranging from Junior Engineers to Sub Agents.

Ensure safe systems of work are clearly communicated and followed on site.

Monitor and report on cost performance and KPIs weekly.

Support training and development of your team through coaching and performance review.

Plan and deliver short-term lookaheads (3-week and 6-week planning cycles).

Manage and monitor subcontractor performance – identifying risks and driving efficiencies.

Conduct regular site inspections focused on HSE and quality compliance.

Foster a culture of openness, safety, and accountability across site teams.

Requirements

Strong background in reinforced concrete delivery – from specification to placement and testing.

Previous experience managing large-scale, high-value infrastructure packages.

Proven track record in team leadership and performance management.

Current SMSTS and appropriate CSCS card required.

Full UK driving licence.

Comfortable working unsociable hours when required to meet key deadlines.

Excellent communication, planning, and reporting skills.

Ability to work independently while effectively reporting to a Senior Project Manager
