M&E Site Supervisor – Substations
Location: South Wales / South West England
Contract Type: Permanent
Salary: £50,000 – £60,000 per annum + Company vehicle and fuel card for business use
Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced M&E Site Supervisor to oversee mechanical and electrical works on high-voltage substation projects across South Wales and South West England.
In this role, you will supervise site activities, manage multi-disciplinary teams, and support the Site Manager to ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, and to the highest quality standards. The role involves travel across multiple sites and requires a full UK driving licence.
Key Responsibilities
* Supervise site operations across multiple mechanical and electrical disciplines, ensuring compliance with health, safety, environmental, and quality standards
* Assist the Site Manager in maintaining programme schedules and site documentation
* Manage and motivate site personnel, agency staff, and subcontractors
* Coordinate the allocation and use of materials, tools, and equipment efficiently
* Implement and maintain SHES plans, ensuring daily inspections and inductions are completed
* Maintain accurate site records and complete quality documentation
* Build and maintain strong working relationships with clients, contractors, and stakeholders
* Proactively identify, address, and resolve site issues
Required Skills and Experience
* SSSTS Site Supervisor qualification and minimum of CSCS / CPCS / ECITB Supervisor Safety Passport / Card
* Authorised as a National Grid Competent Person
* Proven ability to manage own workload autonomously, with pace, attention to detail, and strong organisational skills
* Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills
* Ability to problem-solve, anticipate challenges, and implement effective solutions
* Competent in Microsoft 365 applications (Outlook, Word, Excel)
* Experience working on high-voltage substation projects (up to 400kV preferred)
* Full UK driving licence with willingness to travel between sites
