Electrical Commissioning Engineer
Altera recruitment is seeking a skilled and motivated Electrical Commissioning Engineer to take a hands-on role in the installation, testing, and commissioning of electrical systems across water, wastewater, and environmental infrastructure projects. As a Electrical Commissioning Engineer you will be responsible for ensuring systems function as intended, are safe, efficient, and compliant, and are handed over to clients with full documentation and operational reliability.
Responsibilities of an Electrical Commissioning Engineer:
* Lead the commissioning of electrical systems including control panels, instrumentation, MCCs, VSDs, and telemetry.
* Produce and maintain commissioning plans, test records, and sign-off sheets.
* Ensure ‘as-commissioned’ drawings and data sheets are accurate and complete.
* Ensure all commissioning activities are carried out in accordance with company Health, Safety, Environmental, and Quality (HSEQ) systems.
Requirements
* Time-served or fully qualified in Electrical Engineering (NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds, or equivalent).
* Competent in interpreting electrical drawings and schematics
* Excellent problem-solving, organisational, and communication skills
* 18th Edition Wiring Regulations (BS 7671)
* ECS/CSCS, SMSTS/SSSTS, Confined Space, or EUSR water hygiene certifications
* Ensure safe energisation, isolation, and testing of systems, including LV switchgear and control circuits.
