Qualified Social Worker – Connected Carers

Location: Medway

Pay: £38 per hour

Contract: Full-time Locum

Are you an experienced Social Worker passionate about supporting children and their extended families? Medway Council is seeking a dedicated professional to join the Connected Carers Team, managing kinship fostering cases and supporting special guardianship arrangements.

What You'll Be Doing:

Manage a caseload focused on connected carers, kinship fostering, and special guardianship

Complete thorough assessments and present to fostering panels

Write clear, high-quality reports for court proceedings

Provide ongoing training and support to kinship carers

Deliver post-order support to families where appropriate

Requirements:

2+ years post-qualifying experience (preferably in fostering/kinship care)

Strong background in assessment work, court work, and panel presentation

Experience running support groups and training sessions

SWE registration and valid enhanced DBS
