QHSE Manager

Location: Lewes, East Sussex
Reporting to: Operations Director
Start Date: September 2025

A global manufacturer within the public transport technology sector is seeking an experienced QHSE Manager to lead Quality, Health & Safety, and Environmental systems at its UK headquarters.

This role is critical in a precision manufacturing environment producing electronic and mechanical assemblies, with responsibility for compliance, continuous improvement, and customer quality performance.

Key Responsibilities

Maintain and develop QMS in line with ISO 9001 and support ISO 14001

*

Lead quality planning, audits, PPAP, and process validation (automotive customers)

*

Oversee QA/QC activities and manage customer and supplier quality issues

*

Ensure compliance with health & safety regulations, including ESD, machine safety, and hazardous materials

*

Manage environmental compliance including RoHS and REACH

*

Drive continuous improvement using tools such as FMEA, SPC, 8D

*

Track and report QHSE KPIs

Candidate Profile

*

Degree or equivalent in Engineering, Quality, or related discipline

*

Minimum 5 years’ QHSE experience in electronics or mechanical manufacturing

*

Strong knowledge of ISO 9001 / ISO 14001

*

Working knowledge of IATF 16949 and automotive core tools

*

Experience with audits, PPAP, APQP, and root cause analysis

*

Strong communication and cross-functional leadership skills

Desirable:

*

IPC-A-610 / IPC/WHMA-A-620 knowledge

*

Second language (French, Spanish, or German)
