Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Maths Tutor to join a dynamic team providing residential care and education for young people with diverse needs in Swansea. The ideal candidate will have experience working with students in SEN environments and possess strong knowledge of curriculum delivery and safeguarding protocols. Key Responsibilities

Deliver engaging and personalised Maths tuition to students with SEMH, EBD, and additional learning needs.

Support students’ academic progress in line with curriculum standards and safeguarding policies.

Promote positive behaviour and create a safe, structured learning environment.

*

Work collaboratively with residential staff, SENCOs, and external professionals to support holistic student development.

*

Ensure all activities comply with relevant regulatory standards, including Ofsted requirements and SEN legislation.

Candidate Requirements

*

Relevant teaching or tutoring qualification, such as QTS or equivalent.

*

Experience working with young people in residential settings or SEN backgrounds.

*

Knowledge of safeguarding procedures, NVQ standards, and behaviour management strategies.

*

Strong organisational skills and the ability to adapt teaching methods to individual learning needs.

*

Clear understanding of curriculum planning and assessment within maths education.

Job Skills

*

Mathematics teaching or tutoring experience.

*

Knowledge of SEN, SEMH, and behavioural needs.

*

Safeguarding and child protection awareness.

*

Excellent communication and behaviour management skills.

Ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary team environments.

Job Location and Environment

This role is based in a residential education setting in Swansea, supporting young people who require specialised education and care.
