We are supporting a school who are seeking a caring, motivated SEMH Teaching Assistant to join their talented team. The school supports children with a wide range of needs, from KS1 to KS5, across Primary and Secondary provision for up to 114 students. The school specifically specialises in social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH).
This role is to start in February 2026 and is full time.
The successful candidate will work alongside teaching staff to support pupils' learning and wellbeing, helping them access the curriculum and achieve their personal goals. This role covers all key stages, KS1-KS5, providing vital support for behaviour management and emotional development.
Key Responsibilities:
Support pupils in their learning and daily school routines.
Assist with promoting positive behaviour and managing SEMH challenges.
Work collaboratively with teachers and other professionals to implement tailored learning plans.
Help create a nurturing, safe, and inclusive environment.
Contribute to monitoring, assessing, and reporting pupil progress.
Encourage pupils' independence, confidence, and social skills.Essential requirements:
Experience of supporting children with SEMH needs is desirable.
Patient, empathetic, and able to build positive relationships with children and colleagues.
Flexible, reliable, and able to work as part of a collaborative team.
Committed to helping pupils thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.
