Job Vacancy: Electrician (Commercial Maintenance & Solar PV)

Location: Mobile – North East Region (Newcastle, Durham, Teesside)

The Opportunity

Are you a qualified Electrician looking for a role that combines the stability of long-term maintenance with the excitement of renewable energy?

The client is a leading maintenance and repair business with a reputation for excellence. While we are proud of our heritage in traditional M&E, our Energy Division is expanding rapidly. We are looking for a versatile Electrician with Solar PV experience to join a team that delivers high-spec projects across the commercial and public sectors.

The Role

This is a truly varied mobile role. You won’t just be doing one type of job; you will be the technical face of the business across a diverse portfolio of sites including schools, local authority buildings, and large-scale commercial facilities.

Your day-to-day will include:

Renewable Energy: Leading the installation, commissioning, and O&M of Solar PV systems and Battery Storage.

*

Commercial Maintenance: Carrying out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive repairs across public sector and commercial estates.

*

Large-Scale Installs: Supporting major electrical installation projects, from LED upgrades to full plant room refurbs.

*

Compliance & Testing: Performing EICRs, initial verification, and ensuring all works meet 18th Edition and MCS standards.

About You

You are an experienced Electrician who enjoys variety and takes pride in delivering high-quality work for high-profile clients.

Requirements:

Qualified: NVQ Level 3 and 18th Edition (BS 7671) are essential.

*

Renewables: Proven experience in Solar PV (Installation or Maintenance).

*

Testing: C&G 2391 (Testing & Inspection) is a must for this role.

*

Versatile: Comfortable moving between a public sector school environment and a heavy-duty commercial install site.

*

Local: Based in the North East with a full UK driving license.

Salary: £42,000 – £48,000 basic (depending on experience).
