We’re looking for an experienced Quality Technician to join our onsite team at a leading automotive OEM in Oxford. If you're confident in quality containment, skilled in problem resolution, and know how to document solutions that others can follow, this is your opportunity to make a real impact.
The opportunity:
In this fast-paced production environment, you’ll work closely with the Lead Quality Technician to support and resolve quality concerns on the shopfloor. Whether the issue involves components, materials, or processes, you’ll take the lead in helping identify problems, implement containment, and develop corrective actions to keep production moving smoothly.
Just as important, you’ll be responsible for writing detailed Work Instructions, developing containment methods, conducting FMEA risk assessments, and helping to set up new processes that prevent issues from recurring.
Working hours rotate every fortnight:
· Day Shift - 06:15am – 16:30pm
· Twilight Shift - 16:00pm – 02:15am
Monday – Thursday – However flexibility is required for supporting on a Friday when on Days in peak periods.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Support the Lead Quality Technician in managing quality concerns
Lead containment and corrective actions to resolve issues quickly and effectively
Create and maintain high-quality Work Instructions (WES/WIS) for each resolution or process
Conduct FMEA risk assessments to evaluate and mitigate potential issues
Define and implement new or improved processes to ensure long-term quality improvements
Communicate with internal teams and suppliers to ensure clear understanding of quality actions
Manage third-party sorting and escalate supplier issues as needed
Use ERP/SAP and other systems to accurately log and track quality issues
What we’re looking for:
Previous experience as a Quality Technician/ Engineer, Senior Quality Inspector or similar
Strong background in quality containment and problem resolution in manufacturing
Skilled in writing clear, accurate Work Instructions and method statements
Knowledge of FMEA and process risk assessments
Able to read and interpret engineering drawings; basic measuring skills
Proficient in Microsoft Office and ideally familiar with ERP/SAP systems
A reliable team player with great attention to detail and flexibility to work additional shifts.
This is a permanent position with progression opportunities available.
Benefits include:
· £16.50 - £18.00 per hour DOE
· Shift allowance of 25% payrate increase after 22:00pm
· Weekend overtime available in peak times starting from 25%+
