We are seeking an experienced Senior Architectural Technologist to support the delivery of large-scale commercial developments on a contract or freelance basis. This role is ideal for a highly capable designer who can take ownership of complex projects and operate with minimal supervision.

The Role

You will lead and manage the design and technical delivery of major commercial schemes from concept through to completion. Projects span a range of sectors including Healthcare, Retail, and Industrial & Logistics, offering varied and technically challenging work.

Key Responsibilities

Lead the design and development of large-scale commercial projects

Act as Job Runner, managing schemes across all RIBA stages

Coordinate consultants and multidisciplinary teams

Produce and review detailed technical information using Revit

Ensure compliance with current building regulations and legislation

Undertake CDM Principal Designer and Building Safety Act Principal Designer duties where required

Liaise directly with clients, contractors, and stakeholders

Requirements

Master’s degree in Architecture from a UK-accredited institution

ARB / RIBA Chartered Architect or MCIAT Chartered Architectural Technologist

Minimum 8 years’ commercial experience delivering complex, large-scale projects

Strong track record of job running and managing projects independently

Advanced proficiency in Revit

Experience acting as CDM Principal Designer and Building Safety Act Principal Designer

Ability to work autonomously and meet project deadlines

Contract Details

Contract or freelance engagement

Competitive day or hourly rate, dependent on experience

Immediate or short-notice start preferred

Flexible working arrangements may be available, subject to project needs
