Position Overview

My client is looking for a skilled and motivated Metal Fabrication Technician to join the growing team in the mechanical and industrial engineering sector. In this hands-on role, you will be responsible for the production, welding, and assembly of precision metal components that are integrated into fully assembled machinery.

Key Responsibilities

Set up and operate fabrication machinery such as press brakes, plasma cutters, and sheet rollers.

Interpret and work from technical drawings and CAD files to accurately produce sheet metal components.

*

Perform welding tasks using MIG, TIG, and (optionally) laser welding techniques, adhering to industry and food-grade standards.

*

Repair and fabricate metal parts, ensuring precision and quality.

*

Use hand and power tools for assembly, finishing, and cleaning of fabricated products.

*

Collaborate closely with design engineers and production teams to optimize fabrication processes and resolve manufacturing challenges.

Candidate Requirements

*

Demonstrated experience in sheet metal fabrication and welding in an industrial or manufacturing environment.

*

High attention to detail and commitment to producing top-quality finished products.

*

Strong understanding of metal properties, fabrication methods, and machining operations.

*

Proficient in reading and interpreting technical drawings and CAD-based blueprints.

*

Knowledge of industry standards and health & safety regulations relevant to metalwork and fabrication.

*

Physical capability to handle heavy materials and operate fabrication equipment.

Package:

Salary - From £38,000

Hours: 37.5 / week. 08:00 to 16:00 over 4 days Mon – Thurs. 08:00 to 15:00 Friday

Holiday: 22 days per year plus all bank holidays (increases to 25 with service)
