SEN Teaching Assistant

Veritas Education are working with a fantastic specialist all‑through school in Darlingon that supports pupils aged 5-19 with Autism (ASC) and Social, Emotional & Mental Health (SEMH) needs. The school provides a highly nurturing, structured learning environment and is seeking a committed SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team as soon as possible.

The Role

As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will:

Support pupils with Autism and SEMH needs across primary and secondary phases
Provide 1:1 and small‑group support to help pupils access learning
Use de-escalation strategies and promote positive behaviour
Work collaboratively with teaching staff, pastoral teams and therapists
Help create a safe, positive and inclusive environment
Support pupils with communication, emotional regulation and sensory needsThe Ideal Candidate Will Have:

Previous experience supporting children or young people with SEN (Autism, SEMH, complex needs or challenging behaviour)
A calm, resilient and empathetic approach
Strong communication and relationship‑building skills
The ability to work as part of a multi‑disciplinary team
A valid Enhanced Child & Adult Workforce DBS on the Update Service (or willing to apply)Why Join This School?
