JOB DESCRIPTION – DOMICILIARY CARE WORKER

Our client, a branch of a national Care franchise, is looking for a Domiciliary Carer to care for their clients in a professional and compassionate manner in and around the St. Albans area. Must have a UK Drivers Licence and own car to drive to various clients throughout the day to administer their care, it is not live in care. NO SPONSORSHIP AND MUST HAVE A CAR AND BEEN A CARER IN THE UK.

You should be able to follow instructions and perform a variety of tasks to help clients which include companionship, dressing minor wounds, administering medication, meal planning, dressing and bathing, doctor’s visits and whatever other help the client needs.

* Help clients take prescribed medication

* Assist clients with ambulation and mobility around the house or outside (doctor’s appointments, walks etc.) and with physical therapy exercise

* Assist clients with personal care and hygiene

* Be a pleasant and supportive companion and play games or walk with clients and encourage exercise and entertainment if they are able

* Report any unusual incidents

* Act quickly and responsibly in cases of emergency

Skills

* Proven experience as a caregiver

* Knowledge of emergency response and first aid (CPR)

* Knowledge of wound dressing

Salary paid at £13.00 per hour for weekdays and £13.50 in the evenings and on weekends. Petrol / diesel is paid at 45p per mile.
