Key Responsibilities:

Plan and deliver creative, differentiated lessons in Year 5, covering all subjects of the National Curriculum with a focus on preparing students for the transition to secondary school.

Regularly assess pupil progress using a variety of assessment strategies and provide timely feedback to students and parents to inform further learning and development.

Create and maintain a positive, supportive, and well-structured classroom environment that promotes engagement, independence, and high standards of behaviour.

Collaborate with colleagues to share best practices, develop effective resources, and ensure continuity and progression across the curriculum.

Develop strong partnerships with parents and carers, keeping them informed about their child’s progress and encouraging their involvement in school life.

Contribute to extracurricular activities, school events, and professional development opportunities, supporting the wider school community.
Person Specification:

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.

A solid understanding of the Year 5 curriculum and experience in delivering engaging lessons that meet the diverse needs of all learners.

Proven ability to assess and track student progress, using data to inform planning and implement targeted support.
*
Strong classroom management skills, with the ability to create an environment conducive to both academic achievement and personal development.
*
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, parents, and staff.
*
A passion for continuous professional development and a commitment to the holistic development of students.
