Overview
We are seeking a proactive and reliable Warehouse Operative to join our team. This hands-on role involves supporting daily warehouse activities, assisting drivers with loading for morning departures, accurately picking and packing orders, receiving inbound deliveries, and arranging courier shipments. The ideal candidate will have strong teamwork skills, good physical stamina, and the ability to work independently while maintaining a safe and organised warehouse environment.
Key Responsibilities
Warehouse Operations
Assist drivers with loading vans each morning, ensuring all items are accounted for and safely secured.
Pick, pack, and prepare orders accurately and efficiently.
Receive, check, and sign for incoming deliveries throughout the day.
Manage goods-in processes, including organising inventory in the correct locations.
Logistics & Outbound
Arrange courier collections and shipments.
Prepare correct labelling and documentation for outgoing goods.
Liaise with internal teams to support timely dispatch and delivery.
Health, Safety & Housekeeping
Maintain a clean, tidy, and hazard-free warehouse at all times.
Follow Health & Safety procedures – training will be provided.
Ensure safe handling and storage of all items.
Teamwork & Initiative
Work closely with drivers, warehouse colleagues, and office teams to support smooth daily operations.
Use initiative to identify workflow improvements or resolve issues as they arise.
Contribute positively to a supportive and collaborative team environment.
Skills & Experience
Essential
Experience in a warehouse or logistics role is desirable but not essential for the right candidate.
Physically fit with the stamina required for manual handling and active work.
Strong organisational skills and high attention to detail.
Ability to work well both independently and as part of a team.
Reliable, punctual, and proactive attitude.
Basic IT skills (e.g., courier systems, order processing software).
