SHP-CARETAKER  

Location: Rookley Close, Sutton, SM2 6TT

Start Date: ASAP

Contract Duration: 3+ Months

Working Hours: 37 hours per week

Pay Rate: £96.05 Per Hour

Job Responsibilities

Provide mobile caretaking services across multiple housing estates.

Undertake routine cleaning of communal areas including stairwells, corridors, lifts, and external areas.

Carry out bulk waste collection and removal across designated sites.

Operate company vehicles safely to travel between estates and transport equipment or waste as required.

Ensure estates are maintained to a high standard of cleanliness and presentation.

Conduct basic health and safety checks and report hazards, repairs, or safeguarding concerns.

Undertake manual handling duties in line with safe working practices.

Support seasonal tasks such as leaf clearance, snow/ice treatment, and ad-hoc estate maintenance.

Work collaboratively with the Estate Services team to ensure consistent service delivery.

Maintain accurate records of work completed and report issues to supervisors promptly.

Adhere to all Health & Safety policies and procedures at all times.

Person Specification

Must Have

Full, valid UK driving licence.

Previous experience in caretaking, estate services, or commercial cleaning.

Experience in bulk waste collection or similar manual handling roles.

Knowledge of Health & Safety practices within a cleaning or estate environment.

Ability to undertake physically demanding duties.

Good communication skills and ability to work independently.

Reliable, punctual, and able to manage workload across multiple locations.

Nice to Have

Manual Handling training certification.

Health & Safety training (e.g., COSHH awareness).

Experience working within social housing or local authority environments.

Basic knowledge of minor maintenance tasks.

Experience in a mobile or multi-site role.
