Junior Sales Engineer - Hope Valley, Derbyshire (No Previous Experience Required) £30,000-£35,000
W Talent are now looking to speak with aspiring Sales Engineers to join a growing team within a well-established engineering business located in the Hope Valley. This Junior Sales Engineer position offers a fantastic opportunity for individuals looking to start or develop a career in technical sales.
No previous technical experience is required, as full training will be provided. We welcome candidates from backgrounds in retail, B2B, customer service, communications, or technical engineering who have a strong interest in developing their technical knowledge within a commercial environment. The role will initially be office-based, with the possibility of some hybrid working once training is complete. A clear progression path is in place for those who show initiative and aptitude, potentially leading to a field-based sales position.
Key Responsibilities
Support the field sales team and sales management with internal and administrative sales tasks.
Manage incoming customer enquiries through phone, email, and CRM.
Build and maintain strong relationships with clients to support retention and growth.
Generate accurate quotes and proposals using the company's systems.
Gain a thorough understanding of products and solutions through hands-on training.
Perform basic product demonstrations and sample testing with or without customer presence.
Clearly communicate results and recommendations to clients, supported by senior staff.
Assist with cross-selling opportunities across related product areas.
Maintain accurate records in CRM from enquiry to order fulfilment.
Key Requirements
Experience in a customer-facing role (e.g., retail, B2B sales, customer service, or communications).
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Highly motivated, self-directed, and eager to learn.
Good time management and prioritisation skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
Willingness to occasionally travel within the UK and internationally.
Salary and Benefits
Starting Annual salary of £30,000 - £35,000 depending on experience.
Performance-related bonus of up to £5,000 OTE.
5-hour work week: Monday-Thursday 8:00-16:45, Friday 8:00-12:30.
