Due to continued success and future business growth, we have an exciting opportunity for a Quantity Surveyor to join our Group Building Safety team based at our North East head office in Sunderland.

Our Group Building Safety Team are responsible for overseeing the review of our portfolio of legacy developments. Working alongside building control, managing agents and leaseholders we are working towards identifying solutions for developments that may require remediation to resolve defects such as exterior cladding.

The Role

Are you an experienced and knowledgeable Quantity Surveyor who possesses excellent relationship building and communication skills?
Do you have experience with of working with contractors specialising in exterior cladding and high rise buildings?

Joining our team as Quantity Surveyor you will be responsible for progressing our portfolio of developments that require investigation and remediation as necessary.

Key duties and requirements

You will also be responsible for but not limited to;

Preparing tender documents, procuring and managing working partnerships with third party providers and sub-contractors to ensure that all contractual terms are met and ensure that all orders are placed, managed and settled as per Group policies and processes.
Producing and managing accurate and sustainable cash flows and budgeting financial information in order to support the valuation process as per Group policies and processes.
Ensuring Group policies and processes are followed and reported on, including all expenditure by managing and controlling budgets and valuations.
Actively managing communications and operational interfaces with internal and external stakeholders.
Authorising and committing expenditure on the COINS system up to the Group approval limit.
Producing key status reports and updates on all KPIs relating to the Building Safety function. Who are we looking for?

As well as being able to demonstrate your experience within the Quantity Surveying field, you must also possess an aptitude to combine strong organisation and communication skills with the ability to relate to all levels of staff whilst also maintaining a keen desire to work in a quality driven business.

To be successful as our Quantity Surveyor - Building safety, you will possess experience of working with external cladding contractors previously, you may have also worked for a commercial Construction company previously.

You will also possess;

Knowledge and experience within the Quantity Surveying field ideally with a key focus on high rise developments.
Experience preparing tenders and procuring third party contractors and consultants is essential.
A full UK driving licence.
A good understanding of the financial implications of the methods and sequences of build.
Good Financial/Commercial awareness & Technical knowledge within the Construction Industry.
