HGV Class 1 Trunk Driver (Nights)

Location: Waltham Cross, Hertfordshire
Pay Rate:

Basic: £48,000 per annum (Approx. £50,000+ potential earnings with overtime)

Bank Holidays: Time + ½

*

Annual Pay Reviews Included

Hours: 48 hours per week, 5 out of 7 nights
Start Times: Between 18:00 – 22:00 (operating on a 2-week rota basis)

Streamline Recruitment are currently recruiting Class 1 Night Trunk Drivers for a busy food distribution operation based in Waltham Cross.

? Newly passed Class 1 drivers are also welcome to apply! Full training and support will be provided for those looking to gain valuable trunking experience in a professional logistics environment.

This is a temporary to permanent opportunity — successful candidates will be offered a permanent position after a 13-week qualifying period.

The role involves night trunking, transporting fresh, frozen, and chilled goods between depots and suppliers across the UK. Duties include loading and unloading goods, completing accurate paperwork, and ensuring compliance with all legal and safety requirements. You’ll also be expected to assist with backhauls, returns, and yard support when required.

Key Requirements:

Valid HGV Class 1 (C+E) Licence, CPC, and Digi Tacho Card

*

Newly passed and experienced drivers both considered

*

Reliable and confident working independently at night

*

Strong understanding of vehicle checks, safety, and compliance

*

Physically fit and capable of light manual handling when required

*

Maximum of 6 penalty points (no DR, DD, or IN convictions)

*

Willingness to complete a DVLA licence check and DBS check
