Our client, based in Oldham, is a leading high tech manufacturer with a strong and expanding customer base. We have an excellent opportunity for a highly skilled Welder/Fabricator to join their team, initially on a 3 month temporary contract which could lead to a permanent role for the right candidate.
Responsibilities will include the fabricated assembly and welding of pressure vessels and equipment from detailed engineering drawings.
The Role & Requirements;
• Experience of both TIG and MIG/MAG welding.
• Understanding information prescribed within Weld Procedure Specifications (WPS).
• Experience of working to weld procedure approvals would be an advantage.
E.G. Welder approvals BS EN 9606-1; BS EN 287.
• Gaining and maintaining the various Welder Approvals to the Codes above for TIG and MIG/MAG will be required for pressure vessel production work (Design Code: Class 3 PD5500).
• Ability to work with Austenitic Stainless Steel and Mild Steel, including dissimilar welded joints.
• Ability to read Engineering Drawings.
• Prepare parts for welding (saw, pillar drill, grinding, weld preparation).
• Excellent verbal & written communication skills.
The ideal candidate must have experience of both TIG and MIG/MAG welding, be confident in their abilities and time management skills to complete jobs within given timeframes and possess the desire and ability to contribute to the team.
