About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and compassionate SENDCo with a strong commitment to Nurture Education to join our inclusive school in Knowsley, Liverpool. This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled practitioner looking for a part-time (2 days per week) role within a supportive, values-led school.
You will lead SEND provision with a strong focus on nurture, inclusion, and trauma-informed practice, supporting pupils with SEND, particularly those with SEMH and additional needs, to thrive both academically and emotionally.
Key Responsibilities
Fulfil the statutory duties of the SENCO role in line with the SEND Code of Practice
Lead and manage SEND provision with a nurture-based approach
Embed nurture principles and trauma-informed practice across the school
Work closely with staff, families, and external agencies
Oversee EHCP processes, annual reviews, and provision planning
Support and develop staff through training and guidance
Monitor and evaluate the impact of SEND interventionsWe Are Looking for Someone Who
Holds the National Award for SEN Coordination (or is willing to work towards it)
Has strong experience of SEND, particularly SEMH, attachment, and trauma
Is committed to inclusive, child-centred practice
