M&E Site Manager needed in East Sussex / 6 months / up to £450 per day
Our client, a top-tier MEP Contractor, is seeking an experienced M&E Site Manager to oversee the successful delivery of a large scale hospital project.
The length of the contract is for 6 months and more than likely will be extended.
The Role:
As the M&E Site Manager, you will play a vital role in supporting the Project and Site Management teams by overseeing all mechanical and electrical installations on this significant residential project. Your primary focus will be to ensure that all M&E works are carried out to the required specifications, quality standards, and within the project programme.
Key Responsibilities:
Support the overall site management team
Take ownership of and manage all M&E aspects of the project, from first fix through to final commissioning and handover.
Supervise and coordinate all M&E subcontractors on site, ensuring their work is carried out safely and to the required standards.
Monitor the progress of M&E works against the project programme and report any deviations.
Conduct regular quality inspections of M&E installations, identifying and rectifying any defects or snagging issues.
Liaise effectively with M&E consultants, the main contractor's team, and other stakeholders.
Ensure all M&E installations comply with relevant building regulations, standards, and specifications.
Review and understand M&E drawings, specifications, and technical documentation.
Assist in the resolution of technical queries and issues related to M&E services.
Ensure all M&E materials are delivered, stored, and installed correctly.
Contribute to a strong health and safety culture on site, ensuring all M&E works are carried out safely.
Assist with the handover process of completed M&E installations.
Candidate Requirements:
Proven experience as an M&E Site Manager on construction projects, ideally within the healthcare sector.
A strong technical background and thorough understanding of both mechanical and electrical building services.
Demonstrable experience in managing M&E subcontractors and coordinating their activities.
Excellent knowledge of relevant building regulations and industry best practices for M&E installations.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively liaise with various stakeholders.
Excellent organisational 1 and problem-solving skills.
M&E drawings and specifications.
A proactive and hands-on approach to managing M&E works on site.
Relevant qualifications in mechanical or electrical engineering or a related field are highly desirable.
A valid SMSTS certificate is essential.
A valid CSCS card is essential.
