Electrical Panel Wireman / Installation Engineer – Peterborough

Location: Peterborough (with UK Site Work as Required)
Contract: Ongoing Contract (Long-Term Opportunity)
Rate: £22.00p/h (Umbrella / LTD)
Hours: Monday to Friday – 10-hour days (occasional weekend work for site projects)

Our client is a well-established engineering business supplying bespoke automation and control systems across the food and manufacturing industries. With over 40 years of experience, they provide full in-house design, build, and installation of electrical systems—supporting major brands and global manufacturing groups.

They are now looking for an experienced Electrical Panel Wireman / Installation Engineer to join their team on a contract. The role will be split between workshop-based panel wiring and on-site work.

Key Responsibilities:

Panel Wiring: Build and wire electrical control panels from schematic drawings within the workshop
Installation: Carry out site-based installation of control panels and associated machinery
Modification: Perform electrical modifications and cable installations on existing systems
Testing: Undertake basic electrical testing and checks prior to commissioning
Cabling: Cable pulling and terminations as required during site works
Ensure all work is completed safely, accurately, and to high technical standards
The Successful Candidate Requires:

Recognised Electrical Qualification (Apprenticeship / NVQ Level 3 / Equivalent)
Experience in panel building, machine wiring, or electrical installation
Competent in reading and interpreting electrical schematics
ECS card
Background in manufacturing, automation, or engineering industries beneficial
Strong work ethic with the ability to integrate well into an established team
Flexibility to travel and work away from home when required (expenses covered)
