SEND Teacher – Specialist Secondary Provision

Salary: £150 - £210 per day (dependent on experience)

TeacherActive is proud to be working in partnership with a leading specialist secondary provision in Liverpool that provides high-quality education for students with a range of severe and profound learning difficulties, including Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), communication needs, and sensory processing challenges.
This innovative and well-resourced setting focuses on personalised learning, promoting independence, life skills, and emotional development alongside academic achievement. Staff work closely in multidisciplinary teams to create a nurturing and structured environment tailored to each learner’s individual needs.
We are currently seeking a skilled and dedicated SEND Teacher to join the team from September 2025. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with a strong understanding of specialist education to make a lasting impact.
The role will involve:
Planning and delivering bespoke, accessible lessons to students aged 11–19 with a range of complex needs
Differentiating teaching strategies and using assistive technology or alternative communication methods as needed
Collaborating with support staff, therapists, and parents/carers to support holistic development
Contributing to the development of EHCPs and individual learning plans
Promoting independence, emotional wellbeing, and communication across all aspects of learning
To be considered for this role, you will need:
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
Experience working with children or young people with SEND, particularly SLD, PMLD, and ASC
A nurturing, patient, and adaptable approach to teaching
Knowledge of PECS, Makaton, sensory integration, or similar approaches is highly desirable
A commitment to inclusive education and a genuine passion for working with vulnerable learners
