General Cover Teacher – Wythenshawe, Prospere Trust

Wythenshawe School, part of the Prospere Trust, is seeking a reliable and professional General Cover Teacher to manage classrooms during teacher absences. This role offers a great opportunity to work in a supportive environment and contribute positively to students’ learning.

✨ Key Responsibilities:

Deliver lessons in the absence of the regular teacher following provided plans

Manage classroom behaviour and maintain a positive learning environment

Support all pupils’ learning needs during cover lessons

Report any concerns or incidents to relevant staff

Assist with administrative or pastoral tasks as required

Ensure Health & Safety standards are maintained at all times

✨ Essential Requirements / Qualifications:

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent

Experience teaching in a school environment

Strong classroom management and organisational skills

DBS on the update service or willingness to obtain

Ability to adapt to different subjects and year groups

✨ Desirable Experience:

Previous experience as a cover teacher or supply teacher

Experience in secondary school settings

Familiarity with the national curriculum across multiple subjects

Experience supporting pupils with SEN or behavioural challenges

Ability to deliver lessons across a range of subjects and key stages
