This is a key role providing legal representation and high-quality advice on child protection matters. You’ll help shape critical legal outcomes, working closely with social workers and public bodies to ensure children’s best interests are prioritised in court and care proceedings.
What you’ll be doing
Provide advice to local authority clients on various aspects of child protection law and conduct a full caseload of public childcare law proceedings.
Maintain positive relationships with clients.
Carry out legal research and share insights with colleagues to support casework and development
Work collaboratively with all colleagues within the child protection team and other legal teams across Invicta Law
Attend internal and external meetings as a representative of Invicta Law
Flexible and adaptable within the range of work for the post.
Time record accurately and manage time efficiently.
Maintain SRA standards and ethics at all times.
Support non-admitted and support staff, contributing to team success
Adhere to internal quality assurance and compliance procedures
What we’re looking for
Qualified solicitor or lawyer with a current practising certificate
Experience in child protection law and advocacy (desirable)
Strong legal research, drafting, and case management skills
Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines with minimal supervision
Excellent communication and client relationship management skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and legal case management systems
A proactive, team-oriented mindset and willingness to support colleagues
Commitment to professional development and continuous learning
