We’re currently recruiting Residential Child Care Team Leaders to join our dedicated teams across multiple sites. This is a fantastic opportunity to lead and inspire others while making a genuine difference in the lives of young people.

About the Role

As a Team Leader, you will play a vital role in supporting young people aged 8–17 within a safe, nurturing, and positive residential environment. You will lead a team of care staff, ensuring high standards of practice, consistency, and care delivery in line with organisational policies and regulatory requirements.

You’ll act as a role model for staff and young people alike—promoting emotional wellbeing, positive behaviours, and independence while working closely with external professionals to achieve the best possible outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

Lead and support a team of Residential Child Care Workers.

*

Provide day-to-day guidance, supervision, and mentoring to staff.

*

Promote emotional wellbeing, independence, and life skills among young people.

*

Support those with complex behavioural, social, and emotional needs.

*

Ensure care plans and safeguarding policies are consistently followed.

*

Encourage engagement in education, hobbies, and community activities.

*

Contribute to staff training, team meetings, and performance reviews.

Requirements

*

NVQ Level 3 in Children & Young People (or equivalent) – essential.

*

Minimum 1 year’s experience in a children’s residential or similar setting.

*

Strong leadership, communication, and organisational skills.

*

Commitment to safeguarding and promoting children’s welfare.

*

Flexibility to work shifts, including sleep-ins.
