Do you have experience supporting children with Special Educational Needs (SEN) in a primary school setting?
We are currently seeking a dedicated and nurturing SEN Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in Lewes, supporting pupils in Key Stage 1 with a focus on both general classroom support and 1:1 intervention work.
About the Role:
Provide support to the class teacher in delivering engaging and inclusive lessons in a KS1 classroom
Work closely with a child (or children) on a 1:1 basis, offering tailored learning support and promoting social and emotional development
Assist with implementing individual education plans (IEPs) and behaviour support strategies
Foster a positive and safe learning environment for all pupils
Collaborate with teaching staff, SENCOs, and external professionals to ensure consistent and effective support
Ideal Candidate Will Have:
Experience working with children with SEN (particularly in Early Years or KS1 settings)
A patient, calm and empathetic approach to working with young learners
Strong communication skills and the ability to work as part of a collaborative team
A relevant TA qualification (desirable but not essential)
A genuine interest in supporting the educational and personal development of children with additional needs

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
