Lighting / Daylight Consultant - Leicester - £35,000 to £45,000 + Benefits

A growing UK-based Environmental and Engineering Consultancy is seeking a Lighting / Daylight Consultant to join their multidisciplinary team in Leicester. This is an excellent opportunity for a consultant with experience in daylight and lighting assessments to support projects across residential, commercial, and public sectors.

Essential Criteria:

Proven experience in lighting consultancy, including Daylight/Sunlight and Lighting Impact Assessments.

Knowledge of BRE guidelines and UK lighting regulations.

Proficient in AutoCAD, with experience using SketchUp or Waldrum Tools for daylight modelling.

Excellent report writing skills and strong attention to technical accuracy.

Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle.

Desirable Criteria:

Progress towards ILP membership or equivalent.

Familiarity with current planning guidance and environmental impact reporting.

Experience liaising with clients, design teams, and planning authorities.

The Role:
You'll deliver detailed daylight and sunlight assessments, lighting calculations, and overshadowing analysis for a range of developments. This role involves both site-based and office-based work, contributing to technical documents and planning submissions. You'll work closely with internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure timely, compliant project delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

Completing daylight, sunlight, and lighting impact assessments.

Developing 2D and 3D models using industry-standard tools.

Writing technical reports to support planning applications.

Attending site visits and client meetings.

Collaborating with colleagues across environmental and engineering disciplines.

This is a full-time, office-based role in Leicester, with a competitive salary (£35,000 to £45,000) and benefits package including private medical insurance, pension, 25 days holiday (plus birthday off), life assurance, CPD support, and more.
