We have an urgent requirement for Platers in Richmond!

Role: Plater - Structural Steel Fabrication
Location: Brompton-on-Swale, North Yorkshire

Sector: Structural Steel Fabrication

Pay & Contract:

£17.62 per hour PAYE

12-week Temp to Perm

Hours & Overtime:

Day shift: 6:00am-2:30pm, Monday-Friday (40 hours)

Saturday overtime: 7:30am-12:30pm, paid at x1.5

Key Responsibilities (Essential)

Plate structural steel (5-100mm) in a production environment

Carry out heat straightening and work from engineering drawings

Operate overhead cranes and lifting equipment safely

Use grinders and consumables in line with HAVS regulations

Work to production targets while maintaining quality and safety standards

Follow HSEQ requirements and safe operating procedures

Skills & Experience Required (Essential)

Time-served Plater or equivalent qualification (trade test required)

City & Guilds / NVQ in Structural Steel Plating

Experience in structural steel / heavy engineering

Strong understanding of engineering drawings and plating standards

Competent with overhead cranes and slinging techniques

Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Good health & safety awareness and ability to work under time constraints
