Remediation Engineer – Enabling works and infrastructure
Location: South West, Bristol (Site based with project travel as required)
Salary: £30k - £50k + car allowance + bonus + benefits
Role Overview
We are looking for a practical, driven Remediation Engineer to join our growing team. You’ll take ownership of remediation design and delivery, working on technically complex and high-profile projects. The client is a leader in contaminated land, brownfield redevelopment, and environmental contracting. They deliver full remediation solutions—from design through to enabling works—using in-house technical design, treatment technologies, and strong operational management.
Key Responsibilities
Lead remediation design tasks: prepare and review detailed strategies (chemical, biological, physical & thermal technologies) appropriate to each site.
Interpret site investigations: soil, groundwater, vapour, and contamination data to define remediation needs.
Work with operational, technical, and regulatory teams to ensure design, risk assessment, and delivery meet client, HSE, and environmental standards.
Oversee installation, operation, or deployment of remediation systems: in-situ / ex-situ treatments, groundwater treatment, soil management.
Support continuous monitoring and verification: ensure remedial objectives are met, and maintain documentation, reporting to clients and regulators.
What We’re Looking For
Degree (or equivalent) in Environmental / Geo-Environmental / Civil Engineering, Soil Science or related field
Experience with remediation technologies (chemical oxidation, soil stabilisation, groundwater treatment, etc.) and with site investigations and risk assessments.
Strong ability to analyse technical data, write interpretative reports, specification of remediation systems, and liaise across multidisciplinary teams.
Committed to quality, safety, and environmental compliance in all stages of project delivery.
Valid UK driving licence, willingness to travel and spend time on site.
