We’re supporting a large, operationally complex waste and recycling organisation to recruit a newly created HSEQ Officer / Advisor for a multi-site role across Cheshire.
This is a hands-on, site-based position supporting a growing Health, Safety, Environment & Quality function during a period of change and investment. It’s ideal for someone who enjoys being out in the business, travelling between sites, and working closely with operational teams.

Multi-Site Role – Cheshire | Waste & Recycling | £35,000–£40,000 + Benefits
The Role
The HSEQ Officer / Advisor role has been created to provide additional technical HSEQ support across multiple sites and to work closely with the HSEQ Manager.
You’ll spend the majority of your time on site, supporting day-to-day HSEQ activity while contributing to longer-term improvements in systems, training, and compliance.
Key Responsibilities
Provide HSEQ support across multiple operational sites in Cheshire
Support the implementation and embedding of a new HSEQ management system
Carry out site audits, inspections, and safety walks
Review, write, and implement RAMS, SOPs and SSOW
Deliver and support HSEQ training (including PowerPoint materials)
Support operational meetings (plan, deliver, review)
Assist with maintaining and updating HSEQ policies and procedures
Build strong working relationships with site managers and operational teams
Key Risk Areas
Pedestrian and vehicle movements
Waste storage and associated fire risk
Environmental spills and incidents
Fixed plant and machinery within an MRF environment
Power isolation and machinery safety
Some exposure to CDM environments About You
NEBOSH General Certificate (or equivalent) – essential
1–2 years post-qualification experience in Health and Safety
Background in waste preferred; construction or manufacturing also considered
Comfortable working in a multi-site, operational environment
Practical, hands-on approach with strong site presence
Proactive attitude and willingness to develop
Location & Working Pattern
Multi-site role across Cheshire (based on the site closest to home)
Regular travel between sites (pool car provided)
Mileage paid at 45p per mile
One day per week working from home
40-hour week with flexible start and finish times
Salary & Benefits
£35,000–£40,000 per annum, depending on experience
Pension: 5% employee / 3% employer
