Process Engineering Manager - Engineering Services - Teesside - £(phone number removed) per annum + £6.5k car allowance

We’re working with a small but well-established engineering services company based in Teesside that is looking to appoint a Process Engineering Manager to lead and develop its process engineering capability.

This is a genuinely attractive opportunity for either:

*

A Senior / Lead Process Engineer ready to step into their first formal management role, or

*

An existing manager who wants greater influence, visibility and autonomy than is typically possible in a large organisation.

You’ll take responsibility for a small team of process engineers, combining people leadership with hands-on technical oversight and close collaboration with clients and the wider engineering leadership team.

The Role

As Process Engineering Manager, you will be responsible for the technical quality, delivery and resourcing of the process engineering function. Key elements include:

*

Line management and day-to-day leadership of process engineers

*

Allocation and supervision of engineering work, ensuring compliance with internal management systems and CDM requirements

*

Technical review and approval of process calculations, specifications and design documentation

*

Supporting project delivery to agreed programmes and man-hour budgets

*

Resource planning, workload forecasting and input into recruitment as the business grows

*

Liaising directly with clients on engineering scopes and technical queries

*

Supporting bids, proposals and technical input to new work

*

Mentoring engineers at different stages of their career, including graduates and apprentices

This is a visible role within the business, with regular interaction with senior leadership and the opportunity to shape how the discipline develops.

About You

We’re keen to speak with candidates who bring:

*

A strong background in process engineering within an engineering consultancy or design house environment

*

Experience leading, mentoring or supervising engineers (formal management experience beneficial but not essential)

*

Solid knowledge of relevant engineering standards, codes and HSE legislation

*

The confidence to make sound, risk-based technical decisions

*

Strong communication skills and the ability to work closely with clients

A degree in a relevant engineering discipline is expected, and Chartered Engineer status (or progress toward it) is highly desirable.

Why This Role?

*

Opportunity to step up into management with real support

*

Influence decision-making in a smaller, agile engineering business

*

Broader exposure across technical delivery, people leadership and client engagement

*

Clear scope to shape and grow the process engineering function

If you’re a process engineer who wants more responsibility, more say, and a clearer line of sight to leadership, this is well worth a conversation
