We have an opportunity available for a Carbon Filter Technician and Trainee Plastic Fabricator to join our team based at our Bridgewater site. You will join us on a full-time, permanent basis and in return you will receive a competitive salary.

Monmouth Scientific Limited (MSL) is a market leading UK based manufacturer of clean air solutions (Filtration Fume Cabinets, Biological Safety Cabinets, Laminar Air, and ISO Class Cleanrooms) for a diverse market base including laboratory, research, pathology, forensics, pharmaceutical, electronics and aerospace.

Responsibilities of the Carbon Filter Technician will include:

To assemble the correct size and type of Filter required which involves cutting the cloth material to size, adding the correct Carbon granules, operating a hot pneumatic press oven, fitting accessories if required and finally labelling and wrapping each product.

Pick items from the relevant parts list.

Learn how to weld a variety of plastics starting with the carbon filter cases required in the filter production process (Full training will be given).

Full training will be provided to teach the successful applicant on the production of carbon filters and in the role of plastic fabricator.

To monitor and maintain a stock of frequently used Carbon and all other generic parts.

To check off (stock) deliveries and assist with Stock Checks and ensuring that figures are accurate ongoing.

To work in a structured and tidy manner, with good organisational skills, keeping the relevant Production areas clean & tidy.

To replenish shelves as necessary and move stock if required.

To liaise with all other departments as required.

To assist Department with workload as required.

To have a good eye for neatness and detail and be able to neatly record all tests against the required test parameters.

To assist with ad hoc duties, when necessary, which may include, but not be limited to:

Local van collection and deliveries some Forklift driving (Forklift Training will be given if required but not essential)

To assist with (heavy) lifting tasks, once fully trained in correct manual handling techniques.

Basic machine operation. (Training will be given)

Read manufacturing drawings (Training will be given)

Essential key skills we're looking for in our Carbon Filter Technician:

Attention to detail and ability to work with a good level of accuracy.

Good workload management skills, and ability to respond to changing priorities.

Ability to follow processes and quality-controlled standards of work, in line with Company procedures and guidelines.

Willingness to work flexibly, and ability to work under pressure and meet targets and deadlines, with minimal management supervision.

Demonstrate high personal standards and a ‘driven’ approach to work, willing to accept responsibility.

Representing Monmouth in a professional, well presented, and courteous manner at all times.

Adhering to all Health & Safety Policies issued by the Company at all times.
