Electrical Maintenance Engineer

? 12-hour rotating days & nights (6am-6pm / 6pm-6am)

? £47,000 per annum

Stafforce Recruitment are proud to be recruiting on behalf of a well-established and highly respected steel manufacturing company based in Sheffield. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Electrical Maintenance Engineer to join a heavy engineering environment offering long-term stability, strong earnings and technical challenge.

The Role

Working on a shift basis, you will support the electrical operations of a large-scale manufacturing plant, ensuring equipment reliability and minimising downtime. Key responsibilities include:

Electrical maintenance of motors and drives
Fault finding on electronic cards down to component level
Maintenance of mill thyristor drives
Electrical maintenance of overhead D.C. and A.C. cranes
Maintenance and fault finding on PLC systems (ABB & Allen Bradley)
Using programming tools to diagnose faults and adjust parameters
Monitoring and maintaining furnace control systems, including calibration of controllers, air/gas transducers, thermocouple changes and furnace lighting procedures
Responding to breakdowns efficiently and safely to reduce production impact

About You

To be successful in this role, you will ideally have:

HNC (or equivalent) in Electrical Engineering
Experience within a heavy engineering or manufacturing environment
Strong fault-finding skills and the ability to interpret electrical drawings
Working knowledge of PC-based software (e.g. Excel)
Experience producing clear shift reports
A solid understanding of electrical safety legislation and maintenance standards
