Design Engineer, Product Design & Development
Our client is a well-established engineering company, they manufacture a quality product which they supply to customers around the world, in excess of 50 countries worldwide.
This is a key role within the business, working from their new, modern, spacious premises, a big part of this role will be to help with new product development/innovation and contribute to R&D for continuous improvements to existing products.
Key Responsibilities:
* New product development / innovation.
* Developing existing product lines
* R&D, including material selection, metal treatment selection etc..
* Design Engineering, using AutoCAD, Solidworks & Keyshot
* Taking concepts from idea to saleable products
* Working with Sales Director, to design products that solve customer problems.
* Liaising with customers to research and develop products for their specific requirements
* Patenting new products
Our client offers a lovely work environment, with a friendly team. This role has no direct reports, but will require the successful candidate to liaise regularly with customers, suppliers and other team members.
Requirements:
Mechanical Engineering Degree.
Experience in using AutoCAD, Solidworks and Keyshot.
Friendly, professional and committed.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
Nice to haves, but not essential:
PLC programming skills
Proven record of taking a product from concept to a saleable product.
Experience of getting a product through the patent process with legal support would also be an advantage.
Working Hours:
Monday to Thursday 8.30am – 5pm / Friday 8.30am – 4pm
Remuneration:
£50 - £60k, negotiable depending on experience.
