We are currently seeking an experienced Senior Project Worker for a residential service based in Wigan, supporting adults with forensic histories and substance misuse issues. This is a locum position offering an immediate start, working with a well-established team in a structured, recovery-focused environment.
This role is ideal for someone with a strong background in supporting vulnerable adults in a residential or forensic setting, who can lead shifts, mentor staff, and contribute to meaningful recovery outcomes.
The Role
As a Senior Project Worker, you will support the day-to-day operations of the service and act as a point of contact for both service users and staff. You will be working with clients with complex needs including substance misuse, offending behaviour and co-occurring mental health issues.
Key responsibilities include:

Leading shifts and offering guidance to junior staff

Supporting the development and implementation of recovery plans and risk assessments
*
Ensuring safeguarding procedures are followed at all times
*
Working collaboratively with health professionals, probation, and external agencies
*
Promoting independence, structure, and engagement in recovery activities
*
Supporting clients with their reintegration into the community
About You
*
Experience working within substance misuse, forensic mental health, or supported housing services
*
Ability to manage challenging behaviour calmly and professionally
*
Strong communication, organisational and leadership skills
*
NVQ Level 3 in Health & Social Care or equivalent (or willingness to work towards)
*
Flexibility to work across a rota including evenings and weekends
*
Enhanced DBS (or willingness to undergo one)
