Mech Tech Professionals currently have an opportuntiy available for a competent Shift Manager to apprehend a full-time position based in Kent.
Our client, one of the UK's most prolific Waste and resource management companies, requires an experienced professional to join their team as soon as possible or upon availability.
Overview
As a Shift Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the health, safety, and wellbeing of staff, contractors, visitors and other stakeholders at an Energy from Waste Facility.

The shift pattern will be 40 hours per week.
Main responsibilities will include:
* Managing and supervising the daily operations of the facility, ensuring safety and compliance.
* Performing supervisory tasks in accordance with company procedures & policies
* Ensuring compliance is met and adhered to with company policies, safety regulations, and environmental standards etc
* Leading a team of six direct reports and driving performance improvements
* Supporting operational improvements and plant maintenance/co-ordination
* Managing activities of contractors and ensuring that safe working environments are in place
* Carrying out workplace investigations and root cause analysis for incidents
* Supporting recruitment, training, and development of the shift team
* Acting as Incident Controller during emergency situations
* Ensuring effective & clear communication between departments to maintain efficiency overall
Candidate requirements:
* The ideal candiate must be fully authorised to operate an EFW facility or working towards.
* Candidate will hold an IOSH Managing Safely Training certification or similar (Preferred)
* Authorised to administer Safety Rules to SAP level 2 or working towards.
* Vast technical background in either plant operations or maintenance.
* Preferably five years+ (5) experience, including practical and supervisory experience with large boilers and rotating plant.
* Experience in managing the procurement of goods and services.
* Experienced in supervising or managing small teams (Preferred)
* Demonstarte and understanding of the Environment Permit and emissions limits.
* Development and implementation of operational procedures and risk assessments.
* Proven ability to select and build teams while upholding strong leadership and skilled in delivering results through others
* Experience of setting personnel and financial objectives and targets
* Experienced in Safety Rules Outage management (Preferred)
* Computer literacy required (Microsoft Office, Nisoft Eclipse, Gladis and CMMS)
