Tradewind Recruitment are seeking a dedicated and reliable School Caretaker to join a vibrant and welcoming primary/secondary school in South Birmingham. About the Role

As the School Caretaker, you will play a key role in ensuring the smooth day‑to‑day running of the school site. Your duties will include:

Opening and securing the school premises
Carrying out routine maintenance, minor repairs, and basic DIY tasks
Maintaining cleanliness and safety of internal and external areas
Conducting regular health & safety checks and keeping accurate records
Supporting staff with setting up for events, assemblies, and meetings
Liaising with contractors and reporting any issues to the Site Manager/SLT
Ensuring the school remains a safe and welcoming space for pupils and staff

Requirements

Previous School based caretaking, maintenance, or facilities experience
Practical skills in basic repairs, maintenance, and general upkeep
An understanding of health & safety procedures
Reliability, initiative, and a strong work ethic
DBS on the update service or willingness to obtain one through Tradewind
