Residential Support Worker
? Location: Hoddesdon EN11
? Salary: £12.50 – £13.50 per hour (depending on experience)
? Job Type: Full-Time (40 hours per week + sleep-ins)
? Contract: Permanent Role
We are currently recruiting a Residential Support Workers for a reputable, Ofsted-registered children’s home in Hoddesdon EN11. This is an exciting opportunity for dedicated individuals who are passionate about supporting young people in a residential children's home.
You will play a key role in supporting children and young people with emotional, social, and behavioural needs, contributing to a safe and nurturing environment during times of challenge and change.
? Key Responsibilities:
Support children and young people in their daily routines, activities, and emotional wellbeing
Assist with personal care where necessary, including bathing, dressing, and feeding
Help implement individual care plans and work closely with key workers
Encourage engagement in positive activities and life skill development
Observe, record, and report any changes in behaviour, health, or emotional state
Ensure the home remains clean, safe, and well-organised
Maintain accurate, up-to-date records and documentation
Work collaboratively with colleagues, families, and external professionals
Participate in shifts, including evenings, weekends, and sleep-ins, on a rota basis✅ Candidate Requirements:
Previous experience in a residential children’s home or similar care setting is preferred
NVQ Level 3 in Residential Childcare (or willingness to work towards it)
A genuine commitment to supporting children with emotional and behavioural needs
Strong communication skills and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team
Ability to build positive, trusting relationships with young people
A full UK driving licence is essential? What We Offer:
