Bookkeeper
Location: Meopham, Kent
Salary: £30,000 – £35,000 per annum (DOE)

Vector Recruitment Solutions are working with a growing business utilities business who are looking to appoint an Bookkeeper to support their finance and operations team. This is a key role for an organised and detail-focused individual with experience in bookkeeping and Xero, who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment.
The Role
The Accounts Administrator will be responsible for the day-to-day financial administration of the business, ensuring accurate records, timely payments, and effective financial controls.
Key Responsibilities:
Bookkeeping using Xero, including purchase ledger, sales ledger and debtor management
Processing payroll and maintaining accurate employee payment records
Creating invoices and credit notes
Maintaining and reconciling supplier accounts
Processing BACS payments, preparing cheques and completing monthly payment runs
Managing staff expenses and ensuring correct approvals
Reconciling supplier statements and ensuring invoices are paid on time
Completing VAT returns
Investigating and resolving discrepancies
Maintaining organised financial and administrative records
Providing general administrative and finance support to management
About You
Previous experience in an Bookkeeper Finance Administrator or similar role
Strong working knowledge of Xero
Experience with purchase ledger, sales ledger, payroll and VAT
Excellent attention to detail and high level of accuracy
Strong organisational and time management skills
Confident using Microsoft Excel and accounting systems
Professional, reliable and able to work independently
Experience working in the Utilities, Construction or similar industry would be advantageous.
