Yard Fitter - Near Colchester, Essex - £13-£14 an hour - ASAP start - temp to perm

An established engineering manufacturer based in Colchester, Essex are looking to recruit a Mechanical Fitter to join their busy production team. This is a hands-on role assembling metal components and structures within a clean, organised workshop environment. You will be working from engineering drawings, using a wide range of hand and power tools, and supporting the movement of materials and finished assemblies around site. MUST HAVE COUNTERBALANCE.

Key Responsibilities

Mechanical assembly of metal components and engineered products
Working from technical and engineering drawings
Using hand tools and power tools confidently and safely
Assisting with fitting, adjustment, and final assembly work
Operating a counterbalance forklift to move materials and components
Maintaining high standards of quality, accuracy, and workmanship
Supporting general workshop and production activities as requiredSkills & Experience Required

Previous experience as a Mechanical Fitter, Assembly Technician, or similar engineering role or semi-skilled metalwork position
Strong experience using hand tools and power tools
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
In-date Counterbalance Forklift Licence (essential)
Full UK Driving Licence (essential)
Good mechanical aptitude and attention to detailWhat's on Offer

Day shift, Monday to Friday
