Director of Governance, Improvement & Development
Location: Liverpool (Hybrid – main office base at Cunard Building)
Pay Rate: £844.98 per day
Contract: Full-time, ongoing
IR35 Status: Inside IR35
Tripod is currently recruiting for a senior strategic leader to join a local authority's Adult Social Care and Health Directorate. This is a high-impact position, suited for someone with significant leadership experience in governance, transformation and continuous improvement within complex public sector environments.
Key Responsibilities:

Lead strategic governance, transformation, and continuous improvement across Adult Social Care and Health services.
*
Drive delivery of transformative improvement plans aligned with national policy and external assurance requirements.
*
Oversee directorate performance, risk, and quality assurance frameworks.
*
Manage cross-functional teams including transformation, service improvement, digital & systems, strategic workforce development and engagement.
*
Develop and maintain strategic partnerships to support public sector reform and better outcomes for residents.
*
Lead on CQC assurance and the implementation of improvement strategies.
*
Manage budget performance, forecast savings, and explore funding opportunities.
Essential Experience:
*
Senior leadership experience in social and health care services, with a record of service transformation.
*
Strategic planning and delivery in large public sector or health organisations.
*
Experience of leading improvement initiatives including commissioning, workforce development, customer/digital transformation, and policy reform.
*
Demonstrated ability to manage complex budgets and realise financial savings.
*
Leadership of multidisciplinary teams across governance, engagement, systems and transformation functions.
Requirements:
*
Educated to degree level or equivalent experience.
*
Programme/project management qualification (e.g., MSP, Agile, Lean).
*
Excellent analytical, strategic thinking, communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
*
Strong understanding of the adult social care and health policy landscape.
*
