Mechanical Assembler

Location: Buntingford, Hertfordshire
Rate Guide: £13.00 - £16.00 per hour, depending on experience
Temp to Perm

We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Assembler to join a busy production team. This is a temp-to-perm opportunity offering a 40-hour working week. Working hours are 7.30 AM to 4.00 PM.

Key responsibilities:

Accurately assemble mechanical components and sub-assemblies to specification.
Read and interpret assembly drawings, work instructions and bills of materials.
Use hand tools, power tools and basic measuring equipment.
Carry out quality checks and ensure components meet tolerance and finish requirements.
Identify and report non-conformances and work with the team to implement corrective actions.
Maintain accurate assembly records and complete paperwork as required.
Follow health & safety procedures and maintain an orderly work area.

Requirements:

Previous experience as a mechanical assembler or in a similar manufacturing/assembly role.
Strong mechanical aptitude and good manual dexterity.
Ability to read basic engineering drawings and follow written instructions.
Reliable, punctual and able to work the specified hours (7.30 AM to 4.00 PM), 40 hour week.
Comfortable standing for prolonged periods and performing light to moderate lifting.
Good communication skills and a team-oriented attitude.
