Overview
An established and fast-growing organisation within the education and training sector is seeking a motivated and results-driven Business Development Manager to join its high-performing commercial team.
This role plays a key part in driving organisational growth through new business acquisition, strategic partnerships, and expansion of existing accounts. The successful candidate will be confident operating in a fast-paced environment, engaging with senior stakeholders, and identifying opportunities to deliver tailored, value-led solutions.
You will act as a key representative of the organisation, leading both remote and face-to-face meetings, understanding customer challenges, and supporting long-term growth ambitions within technical education.
Key Responsibilities
Own the full sales journey to identify, pursue and secure new and existing business opportunities
Prospect and generate your own leads, alongside converting inbound enquiries
Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including education providers and public-sector bodies
Deliver against individual and team sales targets and KPIs
Apply a consultative sales approach to understand customer needs and recommend tailored solutions
Identify opportunities to maximise growth across a portfolio of products and services
Negotiate and finalise commercial agreements, ensuring profitable outcomes
Analyse sales and market data to inform targeted decision-making
Maintain accurate records within the CRM system
Provide regular performance updates and reports to senior management
Capture market intelligence to support future sales and marketing activityKey Requirements
Full UK driving license
Proven success in new business generation within the business-to-business market
Ideally from a training, education or assessment background but not essential
Experience working to targets and KPIs in a performance-driven environment
Strong communication and presentation skills
Confident negotiator with solid contract management experience
Excellent pipeline and CRM management
Strong organisational and time-management skills
Ability to build effective relationships across diverse stakeholders
