We are currently seeking an experienced Works Manager to join our delivery team on a major highways infrastructure scheme. This is a key site-based role, responsible for managing day-to-day construction activities and ensuring works are delivered safely, on programme, and to the required quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

Manage and coordinate all site activities across the highways scheme

*

Supervise site teams, subcontractors, and supply chain partners

*

Ensure works are delivered in line with programme, drawings, and specifications

*

Maintain high standards of health, safety, and environmental compliance

*

Liaise with the Project Manager, Engineers, and Stakeholders

*

Ensure quality inspections and ITPs are completed and recorded

*

Manage site documentation including RAMS, permits, and daily records

*

Drive productivity and resolve site issues efficiently

Requirements

*

Proven experience as a Works Manager on highways or civil engineering projects

*

Strong background in highways, earthworks, drainage, or structures

*

SMSTS (essential)

*

CSCS (Black or Gold preferred)

*

Temporary Works Supervisor/Coordinator (desirable)

*

Strong leadership and communication skills

*

Ability to manage multiple work fronts and subcontractors
