Job Title: Procurement Engineer (12-Month FTC)
Location: Oxford, UK (Hybrid after initial period)
Hours: 37 hours/week (Mon-Fri, 8:30am-4:30pm)
Pay Rate: £30- £40 per hour

We are looking for a Procurement Engineer to support our client's UK-based procurement team at a time of exciting growth. Our client's products help improve global access to medical imaging, and they're looking for someone with strong technical and commercial skills to help build a reliable, competitive, and innovative supply chain.
This role bridges engineering, procurement, and suppliers-making it ideal for someone who enjoys applying their engineering knowledge to strategic sourcing and cost optimisation.
What You'll Be Doing
Support procurement with technical insights throughout the product lifecycle.
Lead cost and value engineering projects, including should-cost analysis and benchmarking.
Collaborate with design teams to guide cost-effective, manufacturable solutions.
Assist in supplier negotiations with detailed cost breakdowns and technical insight.
Help drive global sourcing strategies, including supplier evaluations and onboarding.
Work closely with teams in the UK, Germany, and China.
Contribute to procurement transformation and digitalisation initiatives.
What We're Looking For
Qualifications & Experience:
Degree or HNC/HND in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering (or similar).
Experience in procurement or engineering roles with supplier interaction.
Good knowledge of manufacturing techniques (e.g. machining, casting, composites, cryogenic assemblies, etc.).
Experience in product cost optimisation, should-costing, and cost breakdowns.
Skills & Attributes:
Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
Ability to influence both internal teams and suppliers.
Analytical and structured problem-solver.
Independent, self-motivated, and collaborative.
Willingness to travel internationally (up to 20%).
