Mechanical Design & Analysis Engineer (Solidworks)

Hours: 37.5/week (Flexible, core hours 09:00–16:00)

ASL Technical is proud to be working in partnership with a leading manufacturer of heavy-duty specialist vehicles, supporting the search for a skilled Mechanical Design & Analysis Engineer. This is a key role focused on enhancing structural performance, reducing weight, and improving product reliability for large truck-mounted equipment.

Key Responsibilities

Perform FEA Analysis simulations to optimise strength, weight, and durability.

Design metal assemblies using SolidWorks and ensure compliance with ISO standards.

Validate simulation results with hand calculations and support peer reviews.

Create and maintain CAD drawings, BOMs, and engineering documentation.

Support product development from concept to production.

Carry out risk assessments and contribute to cost-reduction initiatives.

Mentor engineers on analysis tools and techniques.

Requirements

Degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar.

Strong understanding of structural analysis methods.

Proficient in SolidWorks and Microsoft Office.

Able to interpret and verify simulation data.

Collaborative, organised, and capable of managing priorities.
